Supra EE Avenger

There's a BIG difference between using a classic as inspiration and just knocking one off. Supra has taken the latter approach with the newest Erik Ellington skate shoe that obviously is "inspired" by the Jordan IVs. Most sneakerheads would understand and even appreciate using classic kicks as an influence for newer models (prime example are DubZeros, 60+s and so on....), but these look like weak replicas. Why didn't Supra use more skate inspired looks to spice it up a bit? Vulcanized rubber anyone? Or a fat oversized tongue? I'm sure that the forums will be filled with mixed emotions, but most will lean towards the "pass on them" side of the argument. Supra was stepping up their game until now.....
