Nike continues to create more mash ups in order to "pay tribute to the classics" or to save production/pattern making costs. You decide. In my opinion, some have been great hits and some have been great misses. The newest is the Air Max 24/7 that collaborates design elements of the Air Max 95, the Air Max 97 and the Air Max 2009. The top half of the upper, the tongue and lace loops come straight from the 95. The bottom half of the upper is from the 97 and the sole/ air unit is the same as the Air Max 2009. It seems like a simple "air max sandwich" collaboration, but sometimes simple is the way to go. In my opinion, a great mash up design should blend design aspects together, and the upper is a prime example of this. All aspects of a collab should appear as if they were designed together instead of pasted on top of each other (like some AJF1s). Several colorways have already been released but this classic Air Max color scheme will definitely draw the attention of Air Max connoisseurs.
